Claude Coats: A Centennial Celebration
The Disney Parks we enjoy today owe it all to those early innovators at Walt Disney Imagineering. Of that hand selected group of artists and engineers, one man stands above the rest. Literally. Over six feet, six inches tall, Claude Coats had enormous talent to match his stature. Originally from the animation crew at Disney Studios, Walt brought the “gentle giant” aboard the Disneyland project as the park was nearing completion to help create Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. And over the decades, Claude had a huge part in creating the Disney magic we still love today.
We’re proud to join Claude’s son, Alan Coats (An Imagineer himself), to celebrate Claude’s 100th Birthday and remember his amazing 54 year Disney career.
Happy Birthday Claude!

The event kicked off with a rousing round of “Canoe-oke”, where intrepid vocalists sang a verse from Dizzy’s song to win a coveted special edition coonskin cap! Once properly outfitted with this ceremonial headwear, we boarded Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes for a pulse-pounding canoe race around Disneyland’s Rivers of America. Now, THAT’S a Summer Park Hoppin’ Party!

This show marks the beginnings of Electric Mics new adventures in fatherhood, as we introduce his new daughter, Varinia Rose to the magic of the Disneyland Resort. Yep. He’s Goofy Alright…
One of the joys of doing a show like ours, is the opportunity to meet up with those special people who make the magic. This episode is the first of two poolside chats with Disney voice actors. We enjoy his voice as Goofy on the big and small screens, and in the parks…And now, through the magic of the inter-web, you can hear his story. From his humble beginnings in Pratt Kansas to what he and Goofy are up to these days. So sit back, and click your way to a truly Goofy viewing experience!

It All Started With a Stamp
The Park Hoppin’ Party takes a real live California Adventure, as we join our good friend Ron Dias in beautiful Oakhurst to hear his amazing story. And yes, as the episode title says, it all started with a stamp. A true fairy tale about a young man who achieved his dream of helping to create Disney animation magic.
From Sleeping Beauty to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Ron has lent his talents to many films, animated TV series and now commerative Disney art for fans and collectors. He is also a mentor to young animators and has been named the Monterey County Film Commission’s 2010 Lifetime Champion of the Arts. You’ll love this guy…and, as you’ll see, the mosquitos love him too…

Gurr-eat Moments with Mr. Lincoln: An Imagineer’s Pilgrimage
February is the month when we Americans celebrate Presidents. And what better backdrop is there to do so than Disneyland, USA. In Walt Disneys classic opening day speech, he said, “Here age relives fond memories of the past…and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America.” Because Walt was so patriotic, we received a treasure at the park in July 1965: Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. This show embodies the inspiration and hope for the future Walt described.
Now, Mr. Lincoln has returned to the Main Street Opera House and is better than ever! In this episode, were proud to feature this return as seen through the eyes of one of the original Imagineers, Bob Gurr, who helped Walt realize his vision. You’ll see the exclusive media event hosted by Tony Baxter & Scott Trowbridge from Walt Disney Imagineering. And after the show, a historic discussion featuring Bob Gurr and Josh Shipley, WDIs Show Director for this latest incarnation of the attraction.
So sit back, as the skills of the sculptor and the talents of the artist once again let us relive Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
Keep the warmth and wonder of the Holiday Season going all year long with this very special episode. It all started when we met Disney Legend and Imagineer Bob Gurr earlier this year. Besides his many Disneyland creations, like the Monorail and Animatronic body for Mr. Lincoln, Mr.Gurr (or Bobby as we dare to call him) is also famous for his Monorail Martini. He had obviously enjoyed one just before meeting up with us, and foolishly invited us to his house.
This is a rare treat for us and you to get the nickel tour of Bob’s vast southern California estate, hear what Christmas with Walt Disney was like at WED Enterprises in the Fifties- even a festive cooking segment with The Galloping GURR-met!
Hope you’re not alone…Here are all the spooky sights and sounds of Halloween Time at the DLR for you to enjoy. Joined by members of their Park Hoppin Party Posse (The P.H.P.P.), the boys bring you eerie adventures from Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the incredible new Halloween Screams Fireworks Spooktacular, even musical performances by the Dapper Dans and Firehouse Five. Then they foolishly turn the show over to the Kimballs from Duluth for Mickeys Trick or Treat Party. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid. And for the final nail in the coffin of creepy comicality, Electric wrote a fun new song called Spooky Park Hoppin Party. Enjoy!
A Pirate’s Life
A D.F. Christmas
That magical time of year is here when all of us Disney Freaks, (or D.F.s for short), Gather round that big tree in Town Square at our favorite Disney Park.
Electric Mic & Kilt Boy pulled some strings, and were able to book Regis Philbin and a very special co-host to commentate A Disney Fantasy Parade here on the left coast. Enjoy the parade from start to finish, and some Park Hoppin Fun & Frivolity along the way with old friends and new.
The boys, along with the Park Hoppin Glee Club, have also cooked up a special song for all you D.F.s at Christmastime. So no matter what time of year it is, curl up with a Buzz Nog Holiday Energy Drink and click yourself into a D.F. holiday mood with us!
Toy Story Media Mania!
It’s a DCA kind of day, as the boys head to Paradise Pier at Disney’s California Adventure to try their luck on the amazing games of skill at the new Toy Story Midway Mania ride. But before they do, Kiltboy has a Park Hoppin’ Flashback to Disney Park fun & frivolity of years past. We also have a new sponsor to introduce. Lucends…The extended wear protective undergarment especially for die hard park hoppers. Then, Imagineer and Disney Legend X. Atencio is featured as a “Royal Pane”. If you haven’t experienced Toy Story Midway Mania yet, this’ll be the perfect fix until you do!
Tinker Bell Talks
The party is on the move this time, as Kiltboy travels to Glendale for a memorable conversation with Margaret Kerry. Between 1951 and 1953, Margaret was an important part of Walt’s movie making process as the reference model for Tinker Bell in Peter Pan. Margaret describes working with legendary Disney animator Marc Davis, puts to rest the myth that Marilyn Monroe modeled for the character, tells us about the new Tinker Bell movie and much more. You’ll love meeting this fascinating lady! Margaret also invites you to visit her website at TinkerBellTalks.com
Join us on our maiden voyage to Podcastland. We had a great time in May at Disneyland Resort meeting up with members of the Disney Podcast Network (DPN) at Westfest ’08. This episode features an interview with “Mr. Electrical Parade”, Phil Stayton. Then, not knowing any better, Phil turned his camera on us…BIG MISTAKE!
Then, we’re off to Frontierland to ride the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We wrap up this first episode by enjoying a Dole Whip on Walt’s Enchanted Tiki Room Lanai before catching the show for a sing-along…
